    Launch day

     

     

    Thank you to all the families that attended the launch.

     

    We had a great day on Saturday 10th of March at the launch of The Early Families of Whroo and the CD of family photos, Whroo Remembers.

     

    The movie DVD is not far away and we will let you know.

     

     

    For the families who are descedentants of the early settlers of Whroo, please think about what I have told you of sending me a photo of yourselves with your children. Make sure that you put name and date of birth of everyone in the picture and the family that you are linked to at Whroo.

     

    March 08

    Launch on Saturday March 10

    The big day is close – at Whroo, Saturday 10 March: meeting together at 1pm,  the launch is at 3pm, followed by music.

     

    The book of the families is a history that we have accumulated over the past eight years.

     

    The CD is a collection of photos of families in the early days of Whroo.

     

    The DVD is scenery around Whroo: buildings, the mine, how it was and what we have today.

     

    We will be taking photos at the launch to put at the end of the movie. There will be a showing of the DVD on the day. This movie will be on sale later on and we will notify you.

     

    If you wish, you can order the book, CD or DVD before the launch and collect them on the day. Also if you would like them signed, please let me know before the day.

     

    We can post them to you – hear are the costs:

     

    The book is $15.00      CD is $8.00     DVD is $10.00 Post is $3.50

    Laucnhing of the History of the family of whroo

     
    The history is at the printers and the big day is the 10 March at 1pm 2007 at Whroo.
     
    My number is  0358561561. The book will be laucnhed and the CD and the Movie will be a later because we are going to put the big day of the llaunch on the back of the movie and CD

    Chinese on Goldfields

    We had two Chinese ladies write some thing in Chinese for our  history Book of The families of Whroo.  Then we tried to get the Chinese writing translated into English.  We tried many Chinese families without success. Then we went to the Golden Dragon Museum in Bendigo and they were great The translation is

    Ngooraialum Aboriginal elder

    This aboriginal elder is from the Ngooraialum tribe his name is King Charles Tattambo his wife was Queen Mary he died in 1866 and is buried in Murchison. A great leader of his poeple.

     

    It is comeing together

    The end is geting closer the book is at the printers and it is very close now.  The book will be here before Christmas. It is great to be able to preserve ,the history of the Familys of Whroo I so glad and honoured to be involed in such a project and presenting it in a picture form. I feel sure that this book will be well received by familys how, share with me, the history of the Whroo pioneers

    WE are sending out permission letters for the families to sign and return we will have the things ready to go when time comes for publication

    LeRoy reunion

    I had the pleasure to go to the reunion of the LeRoy family in the fitzroy Gardens and took some paper work and the tape recorder and some lunch and had a good day it might be out of my way but I love it. Just to relive the past and learn their history.

    Whroo To day

    Whroo  has changed from a bustling gold mining town of 8,000 or so people 64 businesses school 3 churches and over 100 houses they are all gone today at  Whroo is a lovely place to relax and enjoy a pincic or a B.B.Q you can also camp for free  think of days gone by.

    I am hoping to put out as much information that I have and would hope that others will add to it so we will preserve our histroy. The hardshipe of our ancestors is worth remembering - we all look back and search for our past.
